This is the solution to your 5v reference issues when wiring a new or existing build. The 5v plus is simply a better way to wire your aftermarket ecu to create more robust wiring, but also higher quality steady data that is protected against sensor failures and allows for easy trouble shooting of your cars sensors in times of need.
The RIFE 5v Plus box takes a reference 5v power from your ECU or datalogger, as well as a 12v battery power and ground. From there this box amplifies the reference 5v to add extra amperage for a strong and continuous power to avoid over amperage draw which brings down the 5volt reference voltage. Each channel is protected from outside interference meaning that
Features
- (4) 5v power divided circuits with two outputs each or 8 individual 5v power outputs
- 300 mA per channel of 5v amperage supply
- Each channel is protected against high and low voltage conditions from other channels
- Billet CNC case offers a robust mounting and enclosure
- Utilizes 12 pin Deutsch DTM connector
- LED indicators give status of each circuit for diagnosis
- 12v Power supply compatible 8-20v
- Designed, Built, and Tested in the USA!
Safer Wiring: Many of today's ECU's do not have separate 5v power references, which means that anything in the circuitry can negatively impact anything else in the circuitry. This can be especially problemsome with cam and crank sensors picking up noise from faulty or noisy sensors. The 5V Plus box allows you to divide mission critical sensors such as cam sensor, crank sensor, fuel pressure sensor, map sensor etc. from non critical components such as shock sensors, ride height, etc. This box has individual channel protections meaning if one sensor on one channel goes bad, it will prevent other channels from being drawn down or up depending on failure modality of the sensor.
Steady Reference for More Reliable Data: With a steady 5v reference power signal thanks to an internal amplifier, sensors scaling does not float around and change based off of moving reference voltage. Your scaling is fixed, so you are counting on your sensor power reference to be as well.
Easier breakout: ECU with single or few 5v reference outputs can create a need for splices and/or breakout boxes. This 5v Plus box avoids the need for this while providing the other benefits.
Easy diagnosis: Onboard LED sensors give channel status for easy to diagnose areas of concern and gives status of that circuit.
Status LED
Green: Normal Operation
Red (solid): Low voltage condition (sensor or circuit shorted to ground)
Red (flashing): High voltage condition (sensor to power condition)
This means that you can isolate your wiring to different areas and easily diagnose and indication of what one or few sensors may be the culprit to your issue. For example.
Channel 1: Cam/Crank Sensor/Fuel Pressure/MAP sensor/TPS Sensor
Channel 2: Oil Pressure/Coolant Temp/Transmission Pressure
Channel 3: Shock sensors/Ride Height
Channel 4: Driveshaft and Wheel Speed Sensor
